Get more energy into your life, and you will constantly feel better, you will be able to carry out your work more effectively, and you will have a greater capacity for doing whatever it is you like doing most. It is a sad fact that large numbers of people today are suffering from lethargy and fatigue, and need more energy, for a variety of reasons. Many of those reasons are actually self-inflicted, at least to the extent that they aggravate a condition which is already there. Still others are due to the human propensity to over estimate what can be done in a certain amount of time.
If you feel that you need more energy, you need to start by analyzing your overall lifestyle. There is no point in making isolated changes when the real cause of the problem may be elsewhere. It is also important to be realistic about what is achievable. Start by trying to balance the amount of rest and exercise you get. Too much of one, to the detriment of the other, will be counterproductive. There are as many people feeling lifeless because they don't do enough work as there are who do too much. Achieve the right balance, and you are laying the foundations for improvement.
Once your ratio of work to exercise is such that it supports your body rather than draining it, you are ready to overhaul your diet and nutrition. Far too many people are surviving on junk food diets which give them calories but hardly any nutrients. If you are one of these, switching to eating proper food will have a profound effect on your health and well being. If your diet has been exceptionally poor, or if you have been using tobacco, alcohol or caffeine, you will need to adjust gradually to reach your target rather than trying to achieve too much too soon.
With good sleep and exercise patterns, plus a correct diet, you will soon notice major improvements. Even then, you don't have to stop there as there is still more which can be done. If you are asleep for the right number of hours but you still don't feel refreshed, try some gentle exercise before you go to bed. Try this outside if you can, and definitely avoid TV, computers and cell phones immediately before you retire.
One last push to get more energy is by making sure that you get the right amount of vitamins and minerals in your diet. Food consumption should insure this, but with intensive farming it is possible for food to become drained of its nutrients, and these can be depleted further by cooking. Adding a vitamin and mineral supplement is one way to make sure you have no deficiency, and it need not be expensive. It will complete the nutrition you need to get more energy.
